Based at our National Support Center in Denver, Tuff Shed is recruiting for a Junior Professional Engineer, responsible for the engineering of structural drawings, revisions to existing drawings, revisions to building department corrections, and assisting the licensed engineer. This position will work with our corporate and field teams to meet the design requirements of Tuff Shed's customers throughout the nation.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL TUFF SHED ENGINEER?

  • Initiates and prioritizes new project files, including the assembly of required information
  • Engineers site specific, standard, and truss only projects under the supervision of the Licensed Engineer
  • Designs trusses utilizing Truss Design Software
  • Updates drawings by adding required information from engineering calculations
  • Provides product knowledge support for Tuff Shed's Engineering, Sales, and Production teams
  • Communicates with General Managers, Sales teams, Engineers, and Management on individual projects
  • Communicates directly with local building departments to resolves issues on individual projects Researches building codes
  • Manages individual drafting projects and project files
  • Files, updates, and archives project file folders, as necessary, based on information received

 

SKILLS & EXPEREINCE

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree with emphasis in structural engineering
  • Licensed in Colorado or any other US state with ability to obtain a Colorado CO license within 6 months
  • Experienced in wood design, preferably of residential buildings
  • 1-2 years of experience as licensed engineer
  • Proven experience with AutoCAD Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screen
